Modernising Event-Driven Integration for a Global Financial Services Institution

Replacing brittle point-to-point banking integrations with a governed, auditable event-driven architecture.

The Challenge

Legacy point-to-point integrations between core banking systems and downstream applications were brittle, slow to extend, and hard to audit under regulatory scrutiny. Every new integration meant another fragile, one-off connection — and no consistent way to show a regulator how data moved between systems.

Our Approach

We designed and implemented an event-driven integration architecture on Azure, replacing point-to-point links with a Service Bus and Event Grid-based event backbone and a governed API layer. Releases moved through CI/CD pipelines built for a highly regulated environment, so every change was controlled and traceable.

The Outcome

New integrations went from a months-long custom build to a repeatable pattern measured in weeks. Compliance teams gained a clear, auditable event trail across system boundaries — something the previous point-to-point approach couldn’t provide.
